Benjamin DeWaltFounder, Senior Instructor
Benjamin DeWalt is the co-founder and senior instructor of OnSight Firearms Training. Benjamin has been a life-long martial artist and firearms enthusiast, starting as a kid with long guns in western Pennsylvania. His accreditations include Sig Sauer Academy Master Pistol Instructor, Rangemaster Certified Master Instructor, various NRA instructor certifications, Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor certification, Massachusetts State Police Certified Firearms Instructor and other instructor certifications. Benjamin has been teaching various defensive-focused shooting classes since 2005. He has also been teaching martial arts and hand-to-hand self-defense since 2010. Benjamin’s preferred classes to teach are all levels of pistol shooting, hand-to-hand combatives, and defensive shotgun.

In addition to instructing and maintaining the day-to-day operations at OnSight Firearms Training, Benjamin also teaches personal fitness and martial arts several nights a week. Benjamin spent over half a decade working full time as a gunsmith / armorer for a New York based firearms manufacturer before making OFT a full time career.

Rachel Maloney is a co-founder and instructor with OnSight Firearms Training. Growing up in Massachusetts, she found a love for Olympic Indoor Archery early on and rose to claim the state championship for her age group at 13. It was this dedication she carried over to every part of her life, moving to firearms shortly after college. Through the years, she has been fortunate enough to train with top-tier firearms instructors, edged-weapon instructors, and martial arts instructors. Along with firearms, she is a dedicated martial artist and instructor, leading martial arts and self-defense courses since 2010. Rachel’s coaching philosophy is just that: she wants to see her student succeed and approaches her role as a true coach. Taking to the range the skills learned from years of working with people of all ages, genders, and personalities to overcome in a physical confrontation, it’s her goal to see her students grow and learn the skills to be confident in their training with firearms. She is also currently a Firearms and Tactics Instructor, Commercial Programs, with Academi Northeast.

Sean started shooting as soon as he was old enough, back in 2011, and made the move to serious training in 2019. Now focused on helping students and sharing his talent for lightning speed, Sean moved from working as an armed guard to full time instruction in 2021. He continues to actively train with nationally know instructors in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Vehicle tactics, Team Tactics Courses, Medical Classes and red dot pistol specific courses, including James Yeager/Tactical Response, “Super” Dave Harrington, Steve Fischer/Sentinel concepts, and Don Edward’s/Greenline Tactical. Sean also competes in IDPA matches in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut, a sport in which he has qualified Master.

Matthew “Doc” Hilton started shooting on his family’s farm in NJ when he was a young boy. He continued his enthusiasm for firearms during his years in Boy Scouts. During summers in high school he worked as a camp counselor and junior range instructor teaching Cub Scouts shooting fundamentals on BB guns. At the age of 17 Matthew enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic. Throughout his years in the Army he honed his skills and took more and more advanced medical training. He also received training on multiple weapon systems in the Army’s armory from the M9 pistol to the 107 mm mortar system. During recent deployments, Matt recognized a lack of firearms training in the units he was a member of. Wanting to improve himself and to pass on knowledge to his Soldiers, Matt started taking firearms training with his friend of nearly 20 years, Benjamin DeWalt. Matt continues his service to our Nation with over 25 years of service in Active Duty and Reserves. Currently he is the Senior Medical Operations Sergeant for a local Civil Affairs battalion in the Reserves, and a nurse at a local military base for his civilian job. Oh, he’s also the official OnSight Firearms Training chef.

Geoff H
Geoff HMedical Instructor / NVG Instructor
Geoff is a seasoned professional with over 28 years of experience in the emergency medical and operations sectors. He began his career as a Paramedic with the City of Bridgeport, where he served for 15 years before transitioning to an overseas contracting role. Over the past 13 years, Geoff has worked in the Middle East as the Director of Operations for the Department of State (DOS) MSSI program. In this capacity, he also functioned as a paramedic and medical instructor, working with the Department of Defense (DOD), DOS, and coalition forces.

In May 2024, Geoff retired from his successful contracting career to pursue his entrepreneurial endeavors, founding Real World Concepts, LLC. Drawing on his extensive background in operations, training, and emergency medical services, Geoff is dedicated to providing innovative solutions and expertise to his clients.
