RIFLE /CARBINE SKILL BUILDER

 

This class is intended for intermediate level shooters who wish

to learn the skills to utilize their carbine in a defensive shooting situation.

Advanced level shooters will find this class to be an excellent review of their

existing skills & experience new drills and techniques.

This class is intended to instill in students the mindset and skills to

allow them to use their carbine as a defensive tool in a deadly force encounter.

Students will come away from this class with a better understanding of their carbine, and a higher level of confidence in their ability to effectively operate and wield it.

It is encouraged to run this class with the gear you would normally have in home defense or self-defense situation. LE are encouraged to run this class in your duty gear.

 

PREREQUISITES:

This is an intermediate to advanced level class. This is not a “learn how to shoot” class.

Students should know and be able to perform all aspects of safe firearm handing. Students should be familiar with the basics of shooting (grip, stance, breath control, trigger control, follow through, etc.) Students should know and be able to perform all aspects of loading and unloading, malfunction clearing.

· Safety & Medical Brief

· Range orientation

· Weapon Zeroes

· Slings

· Loading/Unloading

· Precision Accuracy

· Reloading & Malfunction drills

· Shooting Positions

· Mechanical Offset

· Close Range Engagements

· Timed Engagements

· Multiple Threats

· Turning & Shooting

· Shooting on the Move

· Decision Making & Shoot/No Shoot Scenarios

 

 

Class Requirements:

 

– Quality Semi-automatic rifle of their choice (AR/AK/HK) with sling.

(Pistol caliber carbines are also acceptable)

– Quality Semi-automatic pistol or revolver of their choice

– Minimum of 500 rounds of rifle ammunition.

– Minimum of 500 rounds of pistol ammunition.

– Quality eye and ear protection.

– Four magazines minimum for each platform (rifle & pistol) with magazine carriers/pouch, etc.

– Caliber specific cleaning supplies or kit.

– Sturdy belt and quality holster. Please no flimsy, dangling or cloth holsters. Kydex preferred. We recommend holsters from Dark Star Gear, Raven Concealment, Blackpoint Tactical, Black Center Tactical, G-Code, Concealment Express, 508 Holsters.

– knee pads optional but highly recommended.

– An open mind, humble, willing to learn attitude!

If you have to cancel attending a course you are registered for you may opt to transfer to another course that has openings within the calendar year provided you give 7 days notice of the cancellation.

No exceptions.

 

No-Call/No-Show: Participants who do not show to the event without prior 7 days notice forfeit their deposit.
