Basic Covert Entry Seminar
This class will introduce the student to the basic principles of covert entry. Upon completion of the class the student will have learned the principles and techniques required to open or bypass over 95% of locks encountered in day to day life.
It will cover gaining entry through lock picking, lock bumping and lock bypass methods. The class will be divided into four segments. It will begin with an overview of locks and keys, methods of acquiring working keys and key security.
The second segment will cover bypass techniques, why they work and when to employ them to gain entry, as well as the tools required. Students will learn when how to identify bypass opportunities as well as working with improvised tools.
The third segment will cover lock picking, why it works, basic methods, and when to employ it as an entry method. Students will train with practice locks of varying difficulty until a basic understanding is established.
Improvised / homemade tools will also be covered. The fourth section will cover lock bumping, why it works and when to employ it as a method to gain entry. There will be a practice period at the end of class when students can practice the methods they learned on many different locks.
The class will include a basic set of lock picks, bump keys and a latch bypass tool.
