THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER CLASS!

This course is designed to introduce the intermediate shooter to the art of defensive and practical pistol shooting and low light / no light techniques. This is also a great opportunity for the experienced shooter to learn and try new drills and movements as well as refresh skills.

 

COURSE BREAKDOWN:

– Range orientation

– Firearms safety / First aid trauma care briefing

– Warm-up drills

– Ready positions

– Close quarters engagements

– Drawing and re-holstering techniques from concealment

– Reloading techniques and malfunction clearance drills

– Search & scan / situational awareness

– Single hand techniques (right and left and transitions)

– Moving and shooting / shooting and moving

– Failure drills

– Presentation & draw techniques

– Turning and shooting

– Low light pistol skills

 

EQUIPMENT LIST:

-Quality functional semi-automatic pistol in .380, 9mm, 40, or 45ACP calibers.

-5 magazines minimum

-Minimum of 500 rounds of brass cased ammunition (please arrive with magazines loaded)

-quality kydex holster (AIWB, OWB, IWB) —PLEASE NO flimsy nylon or cloth holsters. NO BLACKHAWK SERPA, FOBUS or UNCLE MIKE’S holsters. We recommend Blackpoint Tactical, Black Center Tactical, Dark Star Gear, 508 Holsters or Raven Concealment.

-Magazine or loading device pouches / magazine carrier, etc.

-Ammunition dump pouch (optional)

-Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide

-Hand held flashlight – SureFire, Streamlight, Modlite, Cloud Defensive, etc.

-Weapon mounted light for your pistol (optional).

-Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning with good ankle support.

-Clothing suitable for training in any weather – long pants – long sleeve shirt, hoodie or jacket for cold weather.

-Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses

-Earmuffs and earplugs

-Knees pads recommended

-Notebook and pen for note taking

-Lunch, snacks and beverages to last through out the day.

-Humble willing to learn attitude

If you have to cancel attending a course you are registered for you may opt to transfer to another course that has openings within the calendar year provided you give 7 days notice of the cancellation.

No exceptions.

No-Call/No-Show: Participants who do not show to the event without prior 7 days notice forfeit their deposit.
